Practice Blog Entry: The Stone & Bro - An Inside Look of the Blogging Culture

In today's digital age, blogs have an important role in shaping the way we view the world and our opinions. They offer platforms for many to express their opinions and allow authors' perspectives to be heard. In this post, I will discuss how two different blogs, the Rolling Stone blog and the BroBible blog have very different audiences they speak to, and how the way they write is very different. From music and entertainment to lifestyle and pop culture, I believe these two blogs have unique approaches to content and relaying information to others.

The Rolling Stone Blog (https://www.rollingstone.com) is a blog that I enjoyed! Their blog excels in providing appropriate coverage of all music, entertainment, and pop culture. I absolutely loved how the blogs are organized into different sections making it easier for readers to navigate and find articles on the internet. The format of these blogs includes a mix of texts, images, and many different elements that create a dynamic and visually pleasing experience. I personally have always found this blog interesting, especially when I was looking for the new celeb drama of the day.

In contrast, the blog known as BroBible (https://brobible.com) has an audience catering to the younger, male demographic, which I just did not resonate with. BroBible is characterized by over-dramatic headlines, and shallow articles, and has most of its focus on "Bro Nation" stereotypes. Unlike Rolling Stone, BroBible blogs have several different articles scattered across the homepage with no clear direction. The format is text-based, with minimal appealing photos and elements. Their main focus is to better rates and revenue, rather than pleasing their audience. I can honestly tell that the people writing these blogs are male, as they are very interested in sports, girls, etc.

Reflecting on the purpose behind the two blogs, it is very clear that a blog network's goals and perspectives influence its content and presentation. While the Rolling Stone blogs aim to inform and entertain readers with instant news and drama, the BroBible prioritizes how much money they can make off their ads. The purpose of my writing today is to show that every blog has major differences, but also are alike in a way. Both blogs are writing posts for their primary audience, both making revenue from what they provide to the internet. They also both can catch the eye of someone who happens to want the world's latest news or just finds a certain topic interesting. There truly is a blog for every type of person.

In conclusion, my evaluation of Rolling Stone and BroBible highlights the importance of quality content, precise organization, and dedication to writing an authentic and engaging blog. As readers, it is essential to evaluate the blogs we engage with daily and to believe sources with the correct credibility and authenticity. Blogs serve as a valuable and creative platform to express knowledge, community building, and writing content that others can relate to. Blogs are so fun to read and gossip about, and I believe there is something for everyone!

  2. Kamry, I love this page you did great in the edits of detail in the blog page as well as your post!!! Such great details, I was explaining in a different blog post that I don't enjoy reading for long periods of time and that having a picture or larger printed words to take you into the next paragraph is a lot more entertaining because I get distracted easily. I really look forward on reading some more of your entries!!! Thanks for sharing.
