Blog Entry #1 - Leveling Up Together: How Super Mario Bro's became my favorite pastime.
Many joys in our world allow us to take a break from all other struggles in life, to simply just have fun and relax when given free time. I'm thrilled to introduce you to one of my favorite things to do: Play the Super Mario Brothers games alongside my family, friends, and especially my boyfriend. Together, we have played all the Super Mario games, allowing us to overcome challenges, gather power-ups, and get excited when we finally move on to the next level.
Playing Super Mario Brothers with my boyfriend is not just about winning the game, but more importantly, strengthens our bond and creates unforgettable memories that we will cherish forever. Whether we are strategizing our next move or celebrating the win of a level that took us over an hour to complete, the game has always brought us closer in our relationship. Both of us have played. this game since we were just little kids, and 20 years later bringing it back into our lives is so nostalgic and fun. According to the history of this game in https://mario.nintendo.com/history/, this game was released on October 18, 1985! It is crazy how popular this game still is. It provides us with a chance to unwind, have fun, and let go of everything stressful in our lives and just spend time together. This game also offers valuable lessons and skills that can be used outside of the game. For example, this game allows us to practice problem-solving, teamwork, and perseverance, all needed in the real world to be able to become successful. It is a hobby that not only challenges us but stimulates our brains and fills us with happiness while playing.
I believe gaming goes beyond entertainment. Reflecting on the purpose of this blog, I believe these types of games form connections, encourage teamwork, and teach us how communication can help every situation. Through this blog, I aim to spotlight the benefits of gaming as a hobby and emphasize the importance of quality time with the people you love the most. I hope to inspire someone to find something to ease your mind today. According to the article written by YoungMinds (https://www.youngminds.org.uk/young-person/coping-with-life/gaming-and-mental-health/#:~:text=Gaming%2C%20when%20used%20positively%2C%20can,or%20going%20for%20a%20walk.), playing video games can actually help with lowering your anxiety when it comes to the stress many folks have daily about tasks they are struggling to get done. It may not be playing games like me, but it may include drawing, karaoke nights, movie dates, or anything that may interest you. Life is supposed to be fun, and finding time for your brain to cool off and enjoy the little things only brings you peace in the end.
Whether you're playing this game for the first time or have been enjoying it since you were a child, I urge you to embrace the positive impacts Super Mario Brothers can have on you. Grab a controller, team up with your family or friends (or both!) start your own journey and create memories along the way. Going through each challenge and all of the new worlds this game throws at you, will allow you to spend more time with yourself and your loved ones. Happy gaming!
Wow, this was such a great post! I was not aware that Super Mario Bros. came out in 1985, it is a bit unbelievable that almost 40 years later it is still around. I never really thought about what the Super Mario Bros. game could have been teaching us, so thank you for enlightening me to that. The link you provided to the article written by Young Minds was very informative, and the tips they offered on how to have a positive time while gaming.
ReplyDeleteKamry, this is really cool! I love the Super Mario Bros. series as well, and my all time favorite is Mario Party. Things can get a little intense between my friends and I while we play, but it's a great way to entertain ourselves for up to two hours. We even drink while doing it, whoops! Anyways, there's so much detail Nintendo puts into each Mario game that any release is a killer, and it's probably the main reason why Nintendo is still in business!
